WELCOME MESSAGE

Hello fellow Athletic Trainers,

We are in the home stretch for spring and the end of school. I wanted to thank everyone who attended the RMATA meeting and was there to witness Mr. Rob Evers getting the Hall of Fame award. We certainly blessed to have him and the efforts he has given for all of us in this state. Rich Gerrells was honored with the Distinguished Athletic Trainer award.

On a personal note: New Mexico is very honored to have such dedicated members, We have so many more but they are not nominated. Go online and get the forms and send them to me, or the awards committee chairs, so you can get these deserving members the awards they deserve.

Some items of interest:

  • Get your registrations in for the NMATA annual meeting, June 8-10. We are very excited to see all of you and looking forward to a great symposium. If you are aware of any past members who are no longer in the state, or are no longer active please give them a call and invite them to attend
  • Congrats to the student athletic trainer committee for giving our students a great competition. There were a large number of inspiring students who attended, as a matter of fact a record number of them
  • If you are interested in covering State events, give Missy a call and sign up. She could really use your help. Thank you in advance for this
  • We are going to have another district 7 meeting on wed June 18 at 3:45 pm in St. Louis during the NATA convention, If you are going to attend please let me know so I can discuss the issues with you and get you an agenda.

Thank you for all of your care of our State athletes and for your continued professionalism. This association is very lucky to have so many active professionals. SEE YOU IN ALBUQUERQUE. JUNE 8-10 AT THE ALBUQUERQUE INN

Respectfully,

Tim "doc" Acklin ATC,LAT
NMATA President
